I once used mine to find a bad injector.
After running the engine for 15 minutes to warm up the exhaust manifolds I
checked temps on the exhaust port.
Sure enough, one port was 35 degrees cooler than the others which were all
within a few degrees of each other.

Replaced that injector and engine ran smoothly again.
