I have a $50 IR temp gauge that has a laser for aiming. Got it from some surplus center.
I use it all the time. Especially handy for setting my injectors. The exhaust comes from the heads into the manifolds through elbows so I just aim the laser spot on the elbows and note the temp. Later, when the engine cools down, I adjust the injectors and repeat until all the exhausts are within 10 or 20 degrees. Also very handy for many other temp measurements too. When Frumi (our kitty) was sick of renal failure I gave him twice-daily 100 cc subQ injections of Ringers (like an IV). Unless the bag of juice was around his body temp (105 F) he could not tolerate it so I would heat the bag in the microwave and check it with the IR temp gauge. I recommend every boat have one. A DC clamp-on ammeter is also a handy tool. Norm S/V Bandersnatch Lying Julington Creek FL 30 07.72N 081 38.4W > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Philip R. McGovern > > > > Yep.
