Yep. I watched my diesel mechanic use one a while back to check for "hotspots" on the engine and its cooling system. You can aim it at whatever part you want. I think the one I ordered is supposed to have 1 degree of resolution, so you can aim it pretty exactly.You just get somewhere near the engine, aim it, press the button and there you are. It sure beats getting climbing all over the engine getting burned. It should be good for playing doctor, too.
