This is not just a wire, but a proper DC-Dc converter. Search Ebay for
HP part number "F1064A".
They often can be found for under $15 including Shipping.
These are great DC-DC converts and produce a solid 12v out with a wide
range of in (ala 10v --> 16v).
use one of these to power my LCD display.I am a bit disappointed in the
Targus adapters, they do not hold up as

The HP adapter which seems rock solid.

Jim, when Statpower was sold to Xantrex we got moved to new corporate offices.
a great deal of past product developments and samples were tossed. Among them
were "golden samples" of HP power adaptors for use in cars. Statpower had been
building them for HP as house branded HP products. Needless to say I scooped a
lot of stuff out of the dumpster. <grin>All of them still work. Perfectly good
working equipment but something that did not fit with Xantrex's corporate
product lineup. I have no idea who is now building them but a good guess would
be either China or India.

cheers
Arild
