We never reach a consensus on this subject because it is a deeply personal
decision with profound, potential repercussions. There is probably a huge
difference in attitude between a person brought up in rural Montana and
someone from Massachusetts - you are a product of your environment and
experience. Similarly, you may have military experience that makes you
comfortable with the use of weapons 

 

There is one thing that we can all agree upon - you must get training. This
means both legal and practical training which will inform you when it is
permissible to use lethal force and how to do it.
