I don't know what it marked. Port de Buc is on the French Med coast near the Spanish border. We were anchored waiting for cargo at a nearby tanker port. I was on the bridge one evening and the mate pointed it out. It was really weird, very hard for the eye to pick up on.
Sorry I don't have any charts to look it up, I have only North American charts. Maybe someone on the list has French charts.
