Hi, Anita,

I'm curious why you went from the Gold to the Platinum? I __did__ speak with
Landfall and, as it turned out, ordered the most recent version of the Gold for
my sailing area. We discussed the differences and I believe, correct me if I'm
wrong, the major difference was the Platinum was pre-loaded with photo's
(anchorage's, harbors, etc..) which I didn't need since I always have the most
recent Chartbook on board so that gives me various location and marina
information and phone numbers I might want. The other thing steering me towards
the Gold is that it appeared to be a much larger coverage area should I decide
to wander South at some point with this boat and chartplotter. The Platinum for
my area also had a lot of information on offshore fishing areas which I didn't
need.

Were the photo's the reason you went to Platinum?

Yes you can upgrade the chips, we went from gold to platinum. But 2004 is
very old and out dated.
