We have an OGM combo tri-color/anchor light. I just went to the
Signalmate page and here are a few observations.

Signalmate says it uses a single, as in one, LED. Looks like it from
the picture, looks like some kind of reflector system to get 360-deg.
Current draw is listed as less than .160 A.

OGM uses three LED's. Current draw I know is .5 A. This sounds right
if both are using the same very high output LED: 3 X .16 = .48 A (3
white for anchor and 1 each red and green, using the aft white for running).

It would be interesting to do a side by side comparison of the two
units. I can't help thinking the OGM would be brighter. From side by
side with incandescent lights the OGM is quite a bit brighter.

I was a bit disappointed when I first got the OGM with that .5 A
draw, since all the others were in the .09 to .180 claimed current
draw. However, after using it I'm happy to draw that "extra" current.
Yes, it is BRIGHT.

On another note. Our move to Texas was aborted when we kept running
into very skinny water. We wound up at Slidell, LA at a great marina,
Bon Fouca Marina. The price is right and the 15 or so live-aboards
here are great folks. It's all very laid back and the live-aboards
and management keep an eye on things. No problem leaving things
unlocked or laying out in the open.

We're going to be heading out soon for some hopefully fun cruising,
but plan on keeping our slip since they said we could pay a minimum to keep it.
