I know that many of us like to use never sees(?), but I perter anhydrous
lanolin for fasteners. I used it on all the fasteners that went into the
mast on the boat I built and twelve years of ocean cruising later those
fasteners came out without any corrosion problems at all. The big
advantage is that it is clean. It is the stuff that Lanacoat is mode
of. I use it on anchor shackles and long after the shackle rusts away
the pin can still be withdrawn with ease.
