Thank you all for all the sources for 316 spiral hose clamps.
The spiral clamps have only a small bit of metal either side of the spiral gear slot in the band that has to fail and the whole clamp fails. I have also seen them fail in the area of the screw. T-bolt clamps are much more robust and more metal must go away before they fail. Ben - I do have one of those wire clamp tools and will get it out when I go back to the boat today. BTW - a good source of ss wire is the inner wire of most throttle/transmission control cables.
