Inboard rudder I don't see why that is a prob., my rudder is inboard 
(full skeg) but the vane is transom mounted, pulls on the tiller/wheel. 
Cost is a big issue, I had to save for a good bit to get mine once I did 
I but wished I had got it long before, now I consider it more important 
than the watermaker even. -Ken
