I have mounted, in my boat and others, transducers designed to be used with a through hull, inside the boat with very good results. I always built a small sealed box which I filled with water and placed the transducer in that. Others say it limits the range or sensitivity unless your hull is thin. Well, my early '70s boat has a VERY thick hull, and the transducer seems to work as well as if it were outside. Some glue the transducer to the hull, I did that at first, but it was a REAL PITA when the unit failed and I had to remove it! Where you place it is important, much fwd of the keel makes problems, too far aft and prop wash makes it erratic.-Ken _______________________________________________ Liveaboard mailing list [email protected] To adjust your membership settings over the web http://www.liveaboardnow.org/mailman/listinfo/liveaboard To subscribe send an email to [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] The archives are at http://www.liveaboardnow.org/pipermail/liveaboard/ To search the archives http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] The Mailman Users Guide can be found here http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/mailman-member/index.html
