Lake Tide driven by the wind. Erie is shallow compared to Ontario and I don't think Ontario would be affected as much. I sail a cat on Georgian Bay and twice I've been caught in Bay tide when the wind switched to the East and I was bumping bottom.:-) Did I mention I like to walk off the boat on to the beach.:-)
Anyway no expert, lived in Welland and have minor knowledge of Lake Erie, so above comments and a buck and a half will get you a coffee. Good news is the wind and the isobars are shifting W-NW so that is good, for Erie S-SW can get nasty due to the fetch.
