Hi Jerry,
thanks for your questions. Regarding your other email - I agree it would
be very interesting to have this kind of functionality for VJs in LiVES. I
am sure you have seen the Advanced option to play from a yuv4mpeg stream,
which allows you to play the output from mplayer -vo yuv4mpeg, but as you
mention the stream will pause when it is not visible.

I did have the idea when I started LiVES that it should be possible to
open clips during playback, but in practice I found it quite difficult to
implement.

Probably the simplest way to do it at the moment is to have 2 copies of
LiVES, then use the vloopback output in one copy and open it as a webcam
in the second copy. Of course you would need 2 monitors to do this.


About crossfading two clips - yes this is possible at the moment, just
apply a transition, find your background clip, and then press "x" to swap
foreground/background - and make sure you have "audio follows clip
switches" checked in preferences.
