Running Arch Linux with LiVES 2.4.2, mplayer 37379 and ffmpeg 2.8.1, any time I try to open either an mpeg file or a Matroska file, I get the following error message.
This does not appear to be a valid video or image file LiVES was unable to open it. Check the terminal window for more details. The terminal message is as follows. LiVES info: No usable filters found in plugin /usr/lib/lives/plugins/effects/realtime/weed/libvisual/libvis.so Failed to open file - I tried: LANGUAGE=en LANG=en "/usr/bin/mplayer" -quiet -osdlevel 0 -vo png:z=1:alpha -lavdopts o=threads=8 -noframedrop -ao pcm:fast:nowaveheader -mc 0 "Labor Day.mkv" </dev/null Maybe you are missing a library in mplayer (or it is not a valid media file) ? Of course, using this command to open the file spews some warnings about the system being too slow to play the file along with several options to try, but it still dumps png images and audio from the file into the current directory. Adding '-autosync 30' to the command line opens the file with no warnings or errors, but adding this option to mplayer's configuration gives me the same error messages in LiVES. I can see nothing else that could possibly be causing this problem, so I would greatly appreciate any help in tracking this down. Thanks much.
