I stand from a point of someone who tries to promote the use of this software, 
and this has indeed been an issue.
I have pointed people (windows users) to lmms and didn't even bother reading 
that there exists windows binaries of
this software the time they read the word 'linux'. It sounds silly, but it IS a 
'marketing' problem.
