Another link for this poster is our Windows, OSX and Linux build tutorials,
which would get anyone with even a basic knowledge of a command line access
to a running copy in the time it takes to grab dependencies (5 hours, one
time) and compile/package/install(20 minutes).

He can save a copy of wiki articles tutorial to his computer if he's super
paranoid. :)

But yes, there is nothing preventing LMMS from being sold commercially.  In
fact, it already is on Ebay (as we've seen several people doing).  As far
as the official version going commercial, time will only tell, but as long
as we have FOSS advocates on our dev team, the official version is likely
to remain free.  Toby has had a long track record of making his work open
source and public domain.  To start to do the RedHat thing and charge for
binary releases could really go against this idea of openness that seems to
fuel the culture behind the software to begin with.
