mm, I think this is broken since Tims big commit, I was just researching
something similar and it seems you are right. You cant send to any other
midi channel but 1.
Recording to the wrong channel does however look like it's working
(especially if you have a synth on ch1) as the visualization of recording
seems to get the events and prints them.
