I found that multiple jvm's can't write to the same file.  It seems that
whichever jvm attempts to log first gets a lock on the file.  The next jvm
that attempts to log can't since the file is locked.  However the second log
attempt just silently fails.  There isn't an exception or warning.  So you
think it worked okay.

We just simply went with a seperate log file for now.  Later on we'll
probably try and consolidate the two using the socket server appender.

BTW we were using the RollingFileAppender.
