He said he was interested in contributing in a private email before he
added the +1. He also added an updated syslog appender a few months ago
that no one could take care about:

It seems like we are at least 3 interested committers. And I have a
former colleague that would like to help out, which have already
modified the PHP 4 version to work with PHP 5.
