Well, the dependency would become optional and since you are requiring the user 
to have the INSIGHT constants set beforehand anyway you might as well ask the 
user to also require FirePHP after setting the constants. This would work 
nicely for the case where you auto_prepend FirePHP using php ini option and 
configure it using ENV variables. See:

The protocol you posted is the old one. The new one is more involved and you 
would not want to implement that yourself.
