I do not plan on making a lujvo for every English word in existence. If it
can be appropriately translated into Lojban with a gismu and possibly a
se,ve,te, or xe, then obviously that it what I will do.

The reason I am doing this is few-fold:
1) I believe that by doing this, the extreme amount of work involved will
help me to ingrain the vocabulary in my brain- which is something I
desperately need work on, and this is an effort that I can do without
anything but a computer and a dictionary.

(I had been doing things like jboselkei and such, but those require internet
access, which I currently do not have at home.)

2) I believe that the dictionary translation one can download currently from
the site is very incomplete, and feel that a translation resource which
covers all the concepts is a good idea.

3) I hate fu'ivla. I dislike them in the extreme, all stages, and will only
use them as a last resort. I understand the usefulness of them, and can see
myself using them in conversation when the need arises, but it is my belief
that nearly every concept in existence can be expressed by gismu/ tanru/
lujvo, without having to borrow words from foreign tongues. This includes
the names of animals, plants, etc.

(ex.: The current practice in naming creatures is mainly to use the
appropriate gismu, such as {respa} for lizards (including dinosaurs(?)) and
then the Latin name for it, Lojbanized in the x2 (species) spot. My idea is
to translate the Latin name into Lojban as well, such as {lo respa be le
sutra zerle'a} for velociraptor.)

4) I think that it would be useful.

Here is an example using one definition of the word against:
against - in opposition to; contrary to; adverse or hostile to - (gismu/
tanru) fapro - (lujvo) - (fu'ivla)

There is no need to fill the {fu'ivla} column for an entry if a suitable
lujvo/ tanru/ gismu exists, there is no need to fill the {lujvo} column
unless one is desired to simplify a specific tanru.

Regardless, I sent this letter as a request for assistance, not critique,
and have not received one offer. Instead there is debate on selkemxxxxxx
tanru, which has nothing to do with this topic. I thank la .lojbab. for his
insight and caution, and will take note. I'll be checking the copyright law
as it pertains to me now.
