Fancy Dress

Help! Help!

I have to go to a fancy dress party on Halloween. Can anyone with prior
experience make suggestions for tolerable low cost solutions? My current
idea is mad scientist since it only requires two extra things:

Ugly bow tie (easy).
White lab coat (no ideas where to get this from - anyone know?).

Any other ideas appreciated.
