One possibility is that the O'Reilly network could have a hand in it.
While they do banner ads, they would also help with editorial and
site-management.  That's where I see the biggest problem being--the
long-term labour required to keep it up.  They did www.xml.com, if
you're looking for a reference.

perl.apache.org has languished for months (years?) for lack of human
work.  Robin Berjon has an excellent replacement site designed, but I
don't think he's planning on keeping it up to date.  Do we have the
committment in this group?  If so, let's start a list, find someone
to be point man, and start talking to Doug and Robin about it.
