ahh the joy of sucessful marketting, 

sony have a roadmap for its customers, the idea is something like
the following ....

        tweenie         walkman
        teenager        playstation
        ~21             stereo/laptop/minidisc player
        ~25             big f.o. widescreen TV

the last two are from dim memories of this conversation, anyway
thats how i am led to believe they see their customer maturing
and sticking with sony through the ages of life - next stop the
sony stairlift and the sony colostomy bag
