... and if you compare the number of _trips_ (take-offs and landings) 
with car journeys,  flying is positively suicidal.  Unless you compare
it to cycling ... no that's murderous -- motorists kill a dozen 
peds+cyclists every day of the year in England and Wales and not a 
Public Inquiry/Road renationalisation in sight.
