Well, I've only had to use a winmodem on linux once in my life and, while it
worked, the driver also railed the CPU to 100%.  This was a long time ago,
though.  I'm sure they work better now.

That said, there wouldn't be much more than this statement on the exam about
winmodems.  Most likely, they won't even be mentioned.
