I don't see that, it's still the default install filesystem for Debian.
So it will be alive for a lot of time.

I'm currently using dumpe2fs (with -h option) to look at filesystem
properties (like enabled features, mount counts, last check, and
status), and I find it useful for checking them. I used debugfs once,
many years ago, to force removal of broken file after a system crash.

So while debugfs can be put a level of awareness, i think dumpe2fs has
still use, but I agree that this could be too much for LPI1, I think it
will be more appropriate for topic 203.2 in LPI2.
