Some further suggestions:

1) To replace (un)?expand and fmt pr we could consider adding watch as a useful general purpose command

2) I think we need to beef up the bash section either that or add something to LPIC-2. We should cover subshells and compound commands and  the difference between " and ' (this is already in essentials) and add knowledge of "set -e","set -x", "set -o" and be explicit about pipefail and PIPESTATUS. Basically more about error checking and robust shell scripts, common error and mistakes.

3) Replace screen with tmux or just add tmux if anyone feels aggrieved by the suggestion that screen should be removed,

4) Remove reference to reiserfs

5) Install and configure X and display managers - don't really know what to do with this section. The whole area looks like a hot mess still. At least there is only wayland on the way. Obviously something should be there but what is covered in class ends up being vague and of little use. xwininfo, xdpyinfo - seem out of place in today's gui environments. I really would like this section to be more useful but to be honest don't know much about the whole gui stack to make a recommendation,

6) Since security is finally a thing maybe something on generating certs and sending htem off for signing with openssl. We could include letsencrypt coverage?

cheers
