Hi Kostis,

stop wondering about your lpr(ng) konfiguration, this is rather a fault
(well more a default) from the windows server. Usually a windows box
performs at least 8 - 10 minutes of 'keep-alive' on the port of the
printbox. During this time nobody else will be able to use the box,
imagine what happens if during this time another job arrives on the
windows server so the box can be blocked for ours...

I'm not quite sure if there is a registry entry to manipulate this timeout
behaviour on the windows side, please let us know if you find one :-)

Well maybe you can run a little script on the box that resets the
connection after the transfer of the job as well...

hope this helps
        ~christoph

YOU MUST BE A LIST MEMBER IN ORDER TO POST TO THE LPRNG MAILING LIST
The address you post from MUST be your subscription address

If you need help, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (or lprng-requests
or lprng-digest-requests) with the word 'help' in the body. For the impatient,
to subscribe to a list with name LIST, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
with: | example:
subscribe LIST <mailaddr> | subscribe lprng-digest [EMAIL PROTECTED]
unsubscribe LIST <mailaddr> | unsubscribe lprng [EMAIL PROTECTED]

If you have major problems, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word
LPRNGLIST in the SUBJECT line.
