Does anyone has experience with CUPS client and LPRng server?
We have a couple of print servers (Solaris9) serving a few HP printers, with LPRng software.
Our clients are newly installed Linux-Mandrakes.
I would like to combine power of CUPS printing system running on Linux (there is more and more applications cups-aware exp. Maple-9.50 ) with power of LPRng servers(better status info, diagnostic etc..).
Cups clients should produce a job and do all filtering and option setting, than send a job as 'raw' to the printer server who does all accounting and printing after recognizing type of job .
Is it good idea? Any comments, known issues, problems?
thanks in advance Longina
