I've been playing with a new system, and had an issue...
I've got a little hub that I'm using on the same subnet my main DHCP server. What
I've been doing is disconnecting the hub from my main network, starting up DHCP,
booting the DC, then shutting down DHCP and reconnecting the hub, so I can access the
internet.
What is happening is, after a considerable length of time (8 or more hours,
sometimes), the DC will lock up. I looked in the messages log, and found some
weirdness (see below). I left the DC logged in overnight, and it looks like it shut
itself down somehow (3rd line from last).
Questions:
1) Once a DC is booted, does it ever need to query the DHCP server until it is
rebooted?
2) What the heck is with the second line (broken pipe), which was repeated 638 times,
according to the 3rd line?
