Ahhh. I never understood what this was. I did some digging on the 
Tarantella site and this is very promising. This is exactly the kind of 
help I needed.

It may be a good idea to buy the Tarantella server starter kit for 10 
licenses. I could set up a limited set of applications which I cannot 
switch from, yet (like CAD, but I have a few others). Then make the 
switch earlier than I expected I'd be ready. And finally, move the 
remaining applications over to Linux when appropriate software is available.
