        you mention Ibutton as the dreamed of hardware feature. I would
love to go a bit further - thumbprint scan. what would work well for
access is something at a much lower resolution than required by law
enforcement or spook agencies. all that is needed is a high probability of
unique scans. i recall seeing a mouse with built in scanner and i remember
reading about a scanner on a chip, but somehow i see no products. i very
much prefer object-less authentication: people usually remember to take
their thumbs to work and very rarely give them to others.
        the simens id-mouse just sunk without a trace. julius
