What seems to be the problem?  xf4vnc will not get you session
persistance, but will allow you to monitor/take control of the thin
client workstations in your installation.

vnc-X-session will allow you to run VNC sessions on a per-user basis on
the server and disconnect and reconnect at will whenever you
logout/login from a thin client.
