Nope.  That's the port the vncviewer connects to (and subsequently the
Java applet will too), but your browser initially has to connect to 5801
or whatever port you specify to Xvnc when it is launched to listen for
HTTP traffic.  Once the browser has downloaded the Java applet from this
port, the Java applet then connects to 5901, which means that the
tunnels will need to include those ports as well, or you will need to
establish additional tunnels for HTTP/VNC traffic as well as VNC traffic.
