I have further tested this and it must works consistantly now. My environment is:
Using Gateway 4200 pc's 3com905c-tpo NIC's with rom chip from 3com already installed Connecting to Citrix Metaframe farm of servers using published apps Use Microsoft win2k DHCP server with TFTP server tftpd32 v2.53 by Phil Jounin(free) I am runnning RedHat ver 9 server for compiling and programming the nic's only I download Thinstation ver 0.9 and built my thinstation.nbi and thinstaion.conf using the ica protocol and moved the files to the tftpserver root dir Using rom-o-matic I created a floppy to test and it worked great My troubles were with the 3c905c nic's and the zrom images. Still not sure what fixed my problem but I chagnged to ver 5.1.10 zrom images and they worked. I was using ver 5.09 copied the zrom images to the contrib/3c90xutil directory ran cromutil and erased and programmed the 3c905c cards Installed the nic in the gateway and went into the pc bios where I see the zrom image as one of the boot devices (sweet!) set it to first device boot the pc and whala! It boots into a citrix terminal login just like a wyse terminal. I have tested programming the nic's using the i/o of 0x1000 and they work in the other pc's just fine... programmed 4 nic's and tested ramdomly in 3 pc's and they all worked. very nice....thanks to all who developed this! great work! one question - what is the gain in upgrading the etherboot and thinstation versions?
