A thought ... are you going to give the clients the opportunity to run local apps selectively ? If so, I'd be happy to arrange for a separate server at the show with a readonly export to the client's /usr/local. That way, the stable server could have a script that tries to make the mount then either puts up an apology message or runs the script command /usr/local/bin/$1 $* The first script _I'd_ put on the server would check if the client's X has got accelerated 3D and, if so, brings up the FlightGear simulator. I'm sure some of the other server-intensive projects would contribute, thereby making LTSP the preferred way to try new software at the show.
