the problem was gone (remove "nfs-utils", install "nfs-server").

Arrgh...

I just tried that, and now NFS doesn't work at all :-(

I have to admit, I just took Yast, removing nfs-utils and installing nfs-server. After that, I got an error each time starting Yast, saying the two packets would conflict ???

Which are those packets?

Now I tried to remove nfs-server, but it still doesn't work again.

You did a 'rcnfsserver start' after switching the nfs-server?

Do you remember the way you got it running?

Just installed nfs-server package via yast, removing nfs-utils. Then (re)start nfsserver and configure the nfsserver to start at boottime (insserv nfsserver).
