I have written before with noreply, so I'll try again.
I've replied to you a couple of times. Both times with requests for
more information. So, we'll try again.
From the trouble shooting list, only step 10 silently fails.
Many of the items on the list are not pass/fail, but rather provide
information to me to help debug the problem. Unless you actually take
the time to document the output each step along the way, it's difficult
for me to help you.
Saying "everything works until this step" doesn't do much to help me.
What is the display name versus what the host thinks it's name is, etc.
I need all that information. So far, you haven't provided it.
I already did in one of my ealier mails
The display name and the hostname matches. Fuse is loaded.
/usr/bin/lbus_event_handler.sh add block /tmp 1024 Temp
I get an entry in ~/Drives that looks like this (ls -l)
?--------- ? ? ? ? ? tmp
Does it actually have the question marks there?
yes, I have never seen anything like that before.
The script relies upon certain things being there, like a valid ${HOME}
variable being set. If you do a "getent passwd userid", what's the
output?
I'll try that tomorrow.
I'd really like some help on this. What information do you need?
All the stuff I asked for in my previous posts.
Notably:
1) the step by step output of the debugging procedure.
I'll repeat it tomorrow
2) What distro you're using
RedHat Enterprise 4
3) How did you get fuse on it? (compiled yourself, or installed from
distro packages)
compiled custom kernel from kernel.org (because it already contained the
fuse module) and installed the fuse libs from fuse 2.5.3 downloaded from
sourceforge.
4) exact cut-and-pastes of output.
which outputs?
/daleif
