For a DoC, you need a DiskOnChip programming device.  A standard eprom
programmer won't do it.

Then, once you have the equipment, you'll need to format the DoC with a
filesystem.  You put DOS or Freedos on it and use a .exe module from
Etherboot.  I've found the .exe modules sometimes problematic.

You could also put a ext2/3 filesystem on it, then install grub or lilo
and put a .lilo image.  That's how we did the Jammin-125's several years
ago.

I'm sorry I don't have more details. I've forgotten most of the stuff I
did for those.  In general, the DoC's were a pain in the butt to deal
with.
