I used to be, when battling the infamous pixmap fiasco a while back. I think it would be a great idea to put together some sort of group that advocates the continued advancement of X as a remote display. Further than this, I have no clue. I just know that the roots of X being network transparent should never be forgotten, especially with people like us that use it for new (green) technology.
