We're using Ubuntu, so it allows etherboot without any additional work. SuSE
doesn't, the last I knew. I've heard that it's possible on SuSE, but I've
never done it, so can't tell you how.

For an etherboot solution, go to:

http://www.rom-o-matic.net

Build a zlilo boot rom image for the card you are using in that machine. Put
the file in your /boot directory with your other kernel and initrd files.

Add a menu item to your /boot/grub/menu.lst file for the thin client. At one
point, mine looked like this:

title Thin Client
    root (hd0,2)
    kernel /boot/eb-5.4.2-tg3.zlilo

You'll have to change your hard disk and file name info, but hopefully this
will get you started.

Note: Some of the older etherboot versions on the rom-o-matic site have worked
better for me than some of the newer ones. It takes a little playing with.

Cordially,

Peter, hieromonk
