I keep thinking when I read those emails... Are you sure you are not mistaking
the 80386 processor ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_80386 ), a chip
released 27 years ago, and the x86 architecture (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86 ), sometimes called i386 or i686 ?
I can hardly imagine that, even in a low-cost setup, one can still deploy an
architecture based on 386-equipped PCs...
If you're actually building an LTSP-setup with 80386, I'd be interested on the
performance result, since 12Mhz, even for a thin client, is not much. If you
were mistaking, be relieved : the x86 architecture won't disappear soon!
