Hi,

Well, lets start at the most recent things...

It was mooted at one of the Lubuntu Meetings that we got a PR / comms team
together (go look it up if you've forgotten, my system is having real
problems).

I knew a good guy used to journailsm and the dog-eat-dog world it is for
news and asked Jens if he would do me a personal favour to be not so much a
Team Leader, but as a consultant. That is why you will see me described as
his sectretary.

We have some good volunteers, including those used to PR / comms work such
as Rafael from art side and Mario from ubntu.net

 along with Steve (Yorvyk) .

We were given a link from Julien, who believed it to be in good faith and
we followed it. since then, we have had little flashes of "This is not a
great idea to work with these people".

I'm most troubled by that having two experienced people on PR / advertising
telling us to say 'NO', is that when we said 'NO' that muktware then went
and asked individual members to try and influence an over turning of that
result & that discussions did take place.

There is a simple reason that https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-comms

exists, that is for us to chat to each other. If any external group wish
to chat to us, then that is via the group mailing list. Else we will end up
splintered.

As a result, Jens now has put himself up for re-election as our T.L. and I
have have as admin for the team. It was clearly stated by Julien that sub
teams govern them selves. I pretty much 'threw' the sub teams together in
very short time. I think that it is fitting now that we do have the people
required to make comms be a conduit for announcements, PR, advertising
stuff etc. that this team should vote as to if they wish the structure as
is to remain, or wish to have a different structure.

As this is a call to voting, no new members can be accepted for voting.
Once the vote is finalialsied then new members may join.

For:

Team Leader: Jens (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/nrwlion)

Admin: phillw (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/phillw)

Please either vote for, or nominate different candidates. The vote will
finish 23:00 UTC Tuesday 7th Feb so that I can ensure things are in place
for the Lubuntu weekly meeting on Wed 8th Feb 20:00 UTC.

It is really important that you make your selves known with your views.

Regards,

Phill.
