Hi Phill,

thank you for your email with some background info.

I appreciate your efforts, but before you call an election, I would
like to understand a few things better:

a) Comms team sounds like selfexplanatory, but I would like to
understand better, what exactly the lubuntu comms team is up for. What
do you see as the responsibilities and rights?
b) Who does the comms team speak for - the whole community?
c) What are the rights of the team compared to other people in the community?
d) Why is it necessary to have a "Head of Comms" or "Leader"? Where do
we want to be lead to?
e) Who sets the rules for the team? Where do you get the rules for
calling this election?
f) Rather than thinking about how we can make a structure with leaders
and secretarys I would be more interested in ideas and projects, that
people want to do (e.g. we had people talking about a new mockup for
the website. I would be happy to implement something new, if someone
has a mockup or so.)

My experience in the free software community is - if someone wants to
be active and do something, they just start to do something and by
being active in the community assume a role, e.g. Julien - "lubuntu
developer" or Raffael - "lubuntu designer". Did we ever vote to have
them in that role? So, if the lubuntu comms team wants to get together
and do something, an active person will automatically resume a role.

I guess, I do not have a good understanding of your idea for this
team. So, I am looking forward to your response.

Thank you,

Mario
