Hoping that whoever is reading this has also read the rest of the other postings in their entirety, I would like to concentrate more on the question below. Guys on LUG, let me emphasize, and emphasize and emphasize that EACOSS has no intentions whatsoever of taking anyone's business or anyone out of business whatsoever at any time. The major reason for the creation of EACOSS was(and still is) to get OSS as recognized as widely as possible (government, education, public sector, private sector) to be a viable alternative to proprietary solutions within the whole of the East African region. There a number of initiatives being carried out in this direction but most important is QUALITY training in different areas of OSS. In all these activities we view the OSS community, business or otherwise as partners, as pillars on which we stand not as rivals or competitors. For your information 1. I had already placed two orders for 9.3 from Kiggs, one for EACOSS and one for Uganda Martyrs University(you can ask him). Our chairman just happened to come back with a copy from one of our partners in the Netherlands!! 2. Our chairman would never have called for others to do the burning. He would just placed an announcement calling for people to purchase 9.3. 3. A few companies have approached us inquiring on how we do our training, we tell them, we don't hide. Why? Because we strongly believe that the more hands in OSS, the more fulfilling it is to our mission. We cannot achieve our CORE MISSION by getting people out of business, we just look for ways of supporting the OSS community.
