Copper, as in Ethernet?

Why use E1 when you can push 100Mbps Ethernet? But if it's 
Ethernet/VLAN as the last mile, that's pretty easy to 
setup, and doesn't require such a huge cost in CPE.

A simple box running Linux/UNIX with 2 Ethernet cards is 
enough to keep the CPE costs down. I'm assuming they 
provide the media converters for the hook-up?
