Its not really an issue of taste as I consider myself to be a moderately advanced user.
However, I remember early days when I was just testing the waters and can tell you that most people will make a decision to go with linux or otherwise depending on ow fast they can get answers to installation queries and how helpful linux forums are.
I have also subscribed to this forum on and off for some time and it still reads like
newUCC licensing guidelines
asterix UIXP server
linux router on Cisco etc
interesting as they may be, the learning curve can still be sharp for the mother who is fed up with ms viruses and wants to try linux

Well, I have seen lots of techie questions answered on this list
ranging from newbie to 'advanced'. Maybe if more newbie questions are
asked, the list will read more to your taste. Kind of hard to start
giving answers and solutions to questions that are never asked..
