To connect to windows shares in Linux is easy.

Just enter smb:// in Dolphin (for KDE4.3), Konqueror (for KDE3.x) or
Nautilus (for GNOME)

This will display the windows computers on your network.

If you're accessing computer JOHNNY and share MOVIES, in windows you'd do
\\johnny\movies, in Linux, use smb://johnny/movies

Should work.
